Jeremy Chan-Kraushar
Jeremy began his career as an English and Math teacher for students with learning disabilities in a public middle/high school in Brooklyn. He has a B.A. in Sociology and Film Studies, a M.Ed, Special Education, a M.P.A. in public policy and public administration, and a J.D. at CUNY School of Law. Jeremy has presented at SXSW Edu (‘16, ‘17, ‘18), Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC) Conference (‘18), Aurora Institute Symposium (formerly 'iNACOL Conference) (‘17 ‘18), NYC Transfer School Conference (‘17), Digital Media and Learning Conference (‘15) and with KnowledgeWorks. He was the lead designer in the Implicit Bias Awareness asynchronous and live remote workshop modules, and has personally facilitated workshops for over 10,000 educators.
Jeremy specializes in workshops around immigration, intro to race and racism, anti-Semitism and islamophobia, anti-supremacist white identity formation, and implicit bias.
Darnese Yvette Daniels
Darnese, E.Md, MS: Accomplished anti-racist educator with extensive experience in coaching, training, and facilitating human-centered subject matter expertise for students, families, fellow educators and senior leadership.
Excels at disrupting oppressive cultures, structures, and systems by designing critically conscious learning experiences, frameworks, and initiatives.
Dedicated to the joy, healing-liberation, and uplifting of Black, Brown, and marginalized communities.
Darnese facilitates and coaches with passion and grace and loves to work directly with youth.
DeJona Mayol-Evans
Dejona (she/her) is a mother, wife and teacher who has worked in education for 15+ years. Dejona’s approach to teaching is rooted in love as a verb. In her classrooms she hopes to cultivate the learning of young people through discourse and instruction that decolonizes the thinking and affirms the identities of the learning community. Her time as an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) coordinator exposed her to the myriad of families, and schools grappling with the impact trauma can have on a young person’s ability to make progress, especially in an academic setting. In her 10+ years as a Special Education teacher, she has learned from young people and families who demonstrate resilience in the face of trauma and adversity. Dejona’s desire to care and support students impacted by trauma inspired her to pursue an additional Masters of Education with a specialization in trauma and resilience in educational settings.
Dejona facilitates content to support school communities, and families with responding to student needs through a trauma informed lens.
Leah Plasse
Leah (she/her), LCSW, is a white Jewish New Yorker, school social worker working with older adolescents in the South Bronx for over 10 years and an activist organizing since she was a teenager. She is invested in un/learning the multitude of ways social work upholds white supremacy and reinforces oppressive systems. Leah co-founded and facilitates the Mandated Reporters Against Mandated Reporting group and has facilitated workshops ranging from anti-racist trainings for white clinicians to abolitionist demands for equitable schools to Jews for a free Palestine. Leah Practices from an intersectional, anti-racist, anti-capitalist systems perspective that centers holistic community healing.
Leah specializes on workshop topics in beauty "standards," fatphobia, anti-Blackness. She works with topics around critical race theory and disability studies, and is very interested the impacts of mandated reporting on Black and Brown folx.
Rev. Yokasta Tineo
Rev. Yokasta is a mother, a hermit, and a weaver who also happens to be a Licenced Massage Therapist, Inter-Spiritual Minister, Holistic Health Practitioner, facilitator, and founder of Kasa Healing. Yokasta offers Holistic Massage Therapy and Reiki sessions (for individuals and families), offers holistic consultations, spiritual counseling, co-creates rituals and ceremonies for various occasions and intentions, and leads group workshops and healing circles. Her approach integrates her learnings about holistic and trauma-informed somatic healing practices, nutrition, astrology, Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, mindfulness, brain-body-emotion connections, and Nature/Earth wisdom.
Yokasta facilitates healing circle on wellness and spiritual practices, trauma-informed, embodied/somatic and holistic healing tools & practices, lunar cycles & astrology, stress & energy management, mindfulness, self-massage, self-care, community care, social justice & spirituality.
Lyrica Fils-Aimé
Lyrica (she/her), LCSW-R, RPT-S
Lyrica facilitates from her identity as a Black Haitian first-generation immigrant with a white WASP parent. Lyrica has worked in education and mental health for over 15 years, and is particularly interested in dismantling the oppression in therapeutic modalities. Lyrica's approach is to honor ancestral lineage, while constantly acknowledging privilege and power to prevent being complicit in oppression regarding classism, ableism, islamophobia, homophobia and transphobia. Lyrica believes facilitated workshops around equity should be enjoyable, full of connection and meaning, with deep learning. Her goal is for participants to be able to return to the work.
Lyrica specializes in workshop topics in Ancestral Trauma, Wisdom & Resilience, Multicultural Play Therapy Techniques, Decolonizing Wellness, Adverse Childhood Experiences and Trauma Informed Practices, and healing for racial justice warriors.
