This workshop equips mental health professionals with play therapy strategies to use with caregivers or even teachers to engage in nurturing play while maintaining structure for the child. By involving caregivers in the therapeutic process, this approach fosters secure attachments, helping children (especially those with trauma experiences or trouble connecting with others) feel safe, valued, and emotionally regulated while restoring joy and playfulness to their lives.

1. Immigration Experiences: In this mercurial sociopolitical context, play therapy can be the only constant and safe place for a child who comes from a mixed status family and this workshop dives into ways to address the uncertainty while building coping strategies into the play .

2. Family Rearrangements and Divorce: This workshop focuses on the different family arrangements that children experience throughout their lives and we learn new play therapy activities to approach difficult conversations about family transitions.
