Black Girls are not treated the same as other children their age, as reported by multiple studies and stories in the last 50 years. In this social and cultural diversity sufficient requirement workshop, we examine this information and explore how these themes show up in the play room. We practice strategies to work with Black and Brown girls in the play therapy around self-esteem, anti-bias, and anti-racism.
Objectives
Define, explore and identify the problem facing Black girls today
Examine and analyze the ways these issues show up in the play room
Demonstrate ways to be anti-biased in play therapeutic work and providing real strategies for Black girls.
*non-contact hours are defined as specialized online play therapy trainings where: •there is no live-facilitator interaction, you take the training on your own time and • a post test is required.
